Basket Case CB750

Hey everyone. Heres the chronicles of my basket case. It's a CB750 with a '74 frame and a '71 engine. I got it on craigslist for 200 bucks in about 6 boxes with no clue as to its condition. Eventually I want to make it into a badass cafe racer like the rest of the bikes in the forum. I started by cleaning everything as best as I could. I spraybombed the frame, swingarm, center stand and headlight bucket. I cleaned off the engine and steel wooled all the covers, exhaust and wheels. I took apart the carbs and cleaned them and put in new needles. Also, I replaced the seals in the swingarm and forks. I just started putting everything together and have the engine in, exhaust on, rear brake hooked up, bucket on, battery in and I'm working on the wiring.

To remove the rust inside? If so, how did that work? I have heard mixed reviews on that technique but have never tried it myself.

I followed this post http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=21623.msg223400#msg223400. I think it worked very well. The guy on the original post said his tank was spotless after one hour but i did mine for like 3 hours and there was still rust inside. Even though it wasn't spotless it was still a crazy improvement. I guess if i wanted to do it longer i could get it spotless.

Oooohhh another 750 build!!!! MORE PICS, MORE DETAIL c'mon I need my fix!! My project is still in the early stages and I love seeing these things come together. Sweet bike!!!!
