Battery choice!

Been Around the Block
Well I've decided to go with a new battery. This one is a. Dead. B. acid and IMO very large. Here is what my cb450 will be running. Kick start only. Stock 1973 headlight. Front led signals, rear all in one led tail light. Speedo and tach light. Stock Center 3 lamp console.

Here are my choices, if you have any other non eBay ideas please feel free to share!

1. Ballistic lithium ballistic 8 cell. pricey but good? total eBay cost $195

This is the one I got for my bike can't vouch for it yet since bike is not together yet but have heard good things about lifepo4 batteries. http://www.batteryspace.com/LiFePO4-26650-Motorcycle-Battery-12V-6Ah-72Wh-140A-rate-in-Aluminum-Box.aspx

We run the ballistic 4 cell in 2 different cl350. One has starter the other is kick neither have signals and both have led brake lights. This battery works perfect we have never had any issues.

All the Ballistic 8-cells Evo 2 batteries are the same, you don't have to buy one specifically listed for your bike. $195 shipped seems high. I paid about $140 shipped for one no more than a month ago. Amazon has them too.

Our good friends and site sponsors at Moto Madness are dealers for the Anti-Gravity line of li-iron batteries - a popular and well regarded battery maker.

You should be able to run the smallest battery they make. On my XS650 kick only I run a small lithium (Shorai).

Yay! I am happy I approached the DTT gurus. If the 4 cell battery is a good fit / best option, I will purchase one... with 2 people saying go for it :)

How do the antigravity batteries handle our shitty at best charging systems? Are there any necessary/recommended upgrades needed?

Battery choice!

As a reference point, I have a 7 Ahr AGM battery on my 450 and I have and use my starter. Works fine. Only problem I have had is that my charging system couldn't keep up with the 55W H4 headlight bulb I put in and I ran out of juice on a long trip. I have since replaced it with a 35w bulb.

END OF LINE

To me it's more so about the space / mounting location, and it being low maintenance. If I can run with those two requisites filled I will be a happy camper

I am still on the hunt for a battery, due to my recent purchases of other items, a 170$ is out of the question at the moment. Skeptical due to the price but anyone have info on these? cant find much about them

Re: Battery choice!

I run a Scorpion AGM battery in my cb450 from batterystuff.com Its been fine for me so far. I also hook up to a battery maintainer if i know the bike will be sitting for more than about 2 weeks. I think i paid 65 for my battery?
