Pretty cool of you to not wake the neighbors.....

A member on here (t71ford) just bought a sweet little battery for his bike. Can't remember the brand off the top of my head. Shaiwa maybe?

I guarantee that would NOT work. The charging system goes up to around 14 volts, and Li-po batteries can explode if not charged properly.

Well if your bike is loud when riding, is it that loud when idling? Maybe you could use a capacitor and then still walk it out of the neighborhood (which is very considerate of you to have concern).

If you want a real battery then I think under the seat is the way to go. I think you can tilt the gel batteries. And if you're running kick start only, the battery doesn't have to be as big as the stock one (in terms of amp hours). I heard also that electric scooter batteries could work as well.

Do you still have the electrical starter and signals and everything else? If not then you have a lot more options in batteries. I am currently running a very slimmed down electrical system. No electrical starter or signals, also I am going to have an led tailight. I picked up a smaller sealed 12v 3ah battery for $28

bike is a kick start only, LED turn signals,LED brake light, Regular headlight
the 12V 3ah sounds good.
just as long I can have a headlight for a few minutes
what is the size of your battery @adriannarnold?

Cool. Similar to mine. I was recommended to put an on/off switch inline to my headlight so I doesn't strain the battery right on startup. That way you can start the bike and then turn on the light after your bike is running.

My battery will work fine for what you want it to do. Its a 12v 3ah battery from Batteries Plus. I got it for $27. It's about 2"x2"x5" Its pretty small and sealed, that way I can put it in any position I want.

What is the batteries intended use?
If I cant find battery at battery plus i can look elsewhere that sells batteries for
same use

Honestly, I am not exactly sure. Basically if you just ask for a sealed 12v 3ah battery they should be able to help you out.
