Battery keeps going dead/ Oil leaing out of the aftermarket crankcase breather

I know the two have nothing to do with eachother. But both happened about the same time. I'll start with the battery problem. First i couldn't get it started. It would crank and crank but know spark. I kept killing the battery trying to figure out what was wrong.I thought maybe because I cut the crap out of the wire harness trying to shorten it up, I just didn't wire it up correctly. So, I bought a new wire harness. Still nothing. It turned out to be the ignitor. I replaced it and started right up. Now It just won't hold a charge.

I changed the oil yesterday. Put in the required 2.6 quarts. After taking the battery of the tender, I took it out for a test ride. After about fifteen minutes i pulled into my driveway, and oil was drippingout from under the seat rear fender... basically everthing behind the crankcase breather. What the heck is going on.

Sorry for being long winded, but I'm trying to get my bike ready for the "Cafe Racer" meet in Ypsilanti this weekend. It's about 1.5 hours from my home, I'll be riding alone and prefer to get there and back on the seat of my bike, rather than a tow truck.

It's an 1987 Yamaha Radian by the way.
Thanks in advance for any help with these Gremlins.

Regarding the oil - it sounds like you just over-filled. Are you reading the dipstick or measuring the oil? My bike takes much less oil to read full on the dipstick then what my manual says is required to fill the crankcase.
