Beehive signal lenses

Been Around the Block
Hey everybody,

I'm gearing up to return to the States from Myanmar in about a month, and I was wondering if anybody wants me to bring back some beehive signal lenses. They're totally ubiquitous here, in a whole spectrum of colors - clear, red, amber, blue, green, purple....

I'm not really interested in going into business - I'd pass 'em along at price, which I'm sure would be nominal. I have yet to actually price them, but anything you see that much of in Burma is bound to be dirt cheap. So, anyway, if there's any interest in these, I'll do some homework, price 'em, buy 'em, and bring 'em home.

Oh, I'll be flying in to Michigan in June, heading up to the U.P. for the Whitefish Point marathon, driving to upstate N.Y. to visit the in-laws, then driving west through Canada and heading down to Arizona, so I'll be in a lot of people's neighborhoods throughout the summer, if you want to save on shipping and maybe sit down for a beer. :D

Sounds fascinating, especially the part about pics, and the part about beers.

Okay, I snapped a couple of photos on my walk to work this morning.

Let me know if you want me to look in to bringing back a few.

I love the red one. If you could find some red, amber and clear lenses in that smooth style, I'd definitely be interested. Thanks for putting this out there!
Gf just told me that she likes the yellow one with all the facets in the last pic, so I guess if you can lay hands on them, I'd be interested in those, too ;D

I'm definitely interested to hear a price. Red/amber.

FYI, A lot of trailer supply companies sell this type of light in the US. $13-$25

and Myanmar sounds like an awesome place to visit, hope you're doing more than just working!

Great news. I just asked around, and they go for 800 kyat - about 85 cents - apiece.

Game on!

Let me know what styles, colors, and how many.

Again, thanks for putting this out there.
How wide across are these things? It's tough to get a perspective on them. I absolutely love the red ones from your second pic, and at 85 cent a piece, I'm seriously considering asking you to grab me a dozen. Just depends how big they are. The same if you can find amber and clear lenses in the same style. Possibly a half dozen of the multi-faceted ambers in your last pic. If this is too intense, let me know what you can do.

We've got three Ltd's now and counting. I'm learning to buy everything in batches. Spares for three is way different than spares for one.

Cool.

I'll load up on as many of these as my baggage allowance will accommodate.

I was thinking about it - the weird colored ones mostly struck me as just odd, but... Maybe the purples with a red bulb inside could be cool on the back of the right project (I'm picturing an outrageous hardtail with gold metalflake, lace, that type of thing). Maybe I'll grab a few of those, too.
