Best website for buying hardware?

Been Around the Block
I need to order some various sized metric stainless bolts. I haven't found an online source that I like as of yet.
Yes, I do understand that I can go to the hardware store, but the ones nearest me don't have a great selection
and are pretty expensive. What I'm daydreaming of is a magical place, where you can enter your desired hardware
specifications, pay reasonable prices, and have no minimum order. Does such a paradise exist?

I have several places locally that will sell stainless hardware by the pound. I just go in and say hand me the boxes and then I pick out all the hardware I want and we weight it and I pay 7 bucks a pound.

Look for local industrial bolt and screw places, you'd be surprised I bet theres one nearby

I have a local place that you can buy one, or a million. Most towns of reasonable size have something similar.

However, you can't hardly beat the prices of Enco.

I got most of my stainless hardware at www.stainlesscycle.com

Good prices but the shipping was a little slow. May have improved in the last year or two since I've ordered.

There's a local shop in Augusta called Stafford Nut & Bolt. Like these guys say, you probably have a local shop too. Sometimes I go to Fastenal. I also use McMaster-Carr for pretty much everything else I can't find locally such as linkages, ferrules, power blocks, special nuts and bolts, and a million other things. I've been using McMaster on job related stuff for years and their customer service and fill time is amazing. When I worked in Philly, I would receive orders by 1pm the same day if I submitted them by 7am.

Good info- thanks guys! Right around me, we just have the basics. Ace Hardware, and a Fastenal. I work in parts at a Ford dealer, and have dealt with the Fastenal store a few times. It can be....difficult, due to their current staff. ::) This McMaster Carr is news to me- I checked out the website, looks a lot like what I had in mind. Thanks again.

I say drive to milwaukee and drop 100 bucks and come back with every stainless fastner you will need for the next several years.

Yeah, that would be great. Is there a particular store chain you're referring to, Sonic?

I personally love my local Fastenal store. I order two or three bolts at a time, no shipping and no trouble. Many times my stuff comes in the next day. And really great pricing for stainless steel Allen head metric bolts! Beats the heck out of stripping JIS with a Phillips... If you have issues with you local guys, call corporate.
