Bigger? Done.

The Laverda is a good daily driver. Nice low maintenance machine with a Witt programmable digital ignition. Bike was set up for racing back in the 70's and I rebuilt it in 2005 for the street. Rode near 1800 miles to the Laverda North American Rally at Mid-Ohio Vintage Races in July 2008. No problems and we took back roads most of the way.

Very fast, reliable and can be ridden distances without worry.

The picture from 2006 is after the rebuild and I did a four day trip up the Blue Ridge Mountains for fun. Did very well in performance compared to the Triumph in the background.

Welcome to the forum.... we love eurotrash here.... and I should know.... I is one.....very nice Laverda 8) 8) 8) .

Beautiful! I've always loved Laverdas, but may have to 'settle' for a Guzzi soon.

I live in Manhattan, and I've frequently seen an amazing Laverda at 5th and 18th, just parked right on the street. I've left a few drool spots on that one.

Thanks for the compliments and the engine is a 180 very early Jota prototype built identical to Slater's 3CE production competition specs.

OK Rusty...... come clean ::) ::) ::) ...... how fast will she go ;) ;) ;) .........

At Charlotte Motor Speedway back in 1978...North Carolina Highway Patrol Radar clocked the bike (with an open factory exhaust, open intakes and factory 4c camshafts and other bits) at 148mph on the straight.

In the state of tune today..our modern very poor pump fuel, Jota exhaust, axtell camshafts, geared back to street specs and a factory air box and filter, probably 135 to 138 mph.

Dave Minton tested a Laverda 3CE prepared very close to my bike in its present state of tune back in December 1975 for Motor Cyclist Illustrated magazine. He was shocked by the power and recorded well above 130mph.

Not bad for an old bike.
