bike is uncomfortable to ride

Been Around the Block
been riding the XS650 around and I really don't like the riding position from the clip-ons and rearsets. I'm 6ft and I feel like i'm too hunched foward. I have my clipons mount under the top tree. I can't mount them on top cause there is no room.. is there anything I can do to improve the ride quality. my back and neck is taking a beating. fastfromthepast has 70mm high rise clipon's... maybe these will help?

Obvious answer is go back to regular bars ( maybe drags) and normal mid controls.

Other than that, maybe only ride it for shorter trips?

What about talking to roccitycafe about his adjustable bars? Normally they sell with the clip ons, but I'm sure you can buy the bars separately.

Bad ergonomics and possibly bad riding stye, plus you gotta suffer for your 'art' ;D

Shouldn't be too hard on wrists or back, something is set up wrong (maybe you? ;))

Need to be at least reasonably fit to ride a cafe

Get a side on pic of bike, and, if you can, side on pic of you on bike.

Can you slide the forks through the trees a bit and mount the clip-ons up top??

Won't cost anything to try ;)

this is what I want to do and I already have the forks through the trees about 1.5 inches. I did this to low the stance of the bike. the problem with the upper tree is that I can't mount the clipon mount cause it hits where the riser would go. my clipons have big cnc'ed mounts and there pretty thick. I would have to file metal from the tree.

I have cafe bars, but i'm sticking with the clipons... maybe i'll just suck it up and deal with it.. I'm a fit guy, (prior military SF), I 'm just trying to tack some pressure off my back

Lower bars may help your back, particularly if footrest position is wrong.
You can take some weight on stomach muscles. (you will get fitter ;D)
Cafe's don't really work right until you get rolling 70mph +

Officer: Sir; why were you doing 75mph in a 30mph zone?!
Me: I'm sorry officer, my bike doesnt work until 70mph.

Yes officer, that's why I have these large round things on front of bike, they are called 'lights'
( 2:04 am, in excess of 90 in 30mph limit ;D)
