placed an order for a condenser on the morning of 09-17. Was told item was in stock and I received a confrimation via email stating the same and that the order was being processed.
Checked the status of order via email on 09-21 and the status remained "processing order".
Contacted Bikebandit via phone and was told that the item was being shipped to them from one of their overseas warehouses. The expected shipment to them would be an additional 3-5 business days and the item would be shipped to me 3-5 business days after they receive it.
I told them I was under the impression that the item was in stock in California. And that I'd like to cancel the order. I was told that there would be a 20% restock fee. I argued that I hardly consider an item located in a warhouse in china being in stock. i lost the argument however, I let them know of my dissatifaction and that I would never use their company again. I paid $40.83 for the item at Bikebandit. I just found a company located in Ford pa that stocks brand new condensers for $14.95 including upgraded shipping. Whats that tell ya?
My opinion is that Bikebandit mislead me, then charged me a 20% restock fee. I'll never use them again. Take it for what it's worth.

You clearly should cancel, pay the 20% and buy the part for $15. You'll still be ahead and have the part now.

Just ordered some pods from them...I'll keep my fingers crossed-thanks for the heads up!

Wow Troy, now I feel bad I suggested them. I had no issues, I bought a bunch of bolts etc for my Honda, oil filters, 2 helmets as X-Mass gifts and it all came fast to Canada, I got the helmets for 27 and 31 ea and to buy the exact same thing here was over 100 ea. Shitty deal. I will think twice now before I order from them again.

BTW - I will say I've used Bikebandit in the past, and have had nothing but good experiences. I shop around extensively before ordering any parts, so I only order from them when I know I'm getting a good price. Being in Canada, I also don't even consider returning anything I order as it just wouldn't make sense to ship things back.

funny though, shipping fedex from china takes 3 days, in a past life a company I was with got their pc boards done in xinxiang or whatever, really quick, quicker than east to west coast usa

No worries at all brother. I think it was just one of those kind of things. Had I not been in a hurry we wouldn't be having this conversation. The problem for me was by the time I called them it had already been 4 days and they told me another 3-5 for it to get to them, then another 3-5 after that to get it to me. I simply couldn't wait that long. It worked out in the end because I got one much cheaper. If someone want to use them in the future they may want to call and make sure the item/s are located in the US unless shipping would be super quick like Rockcity said.
Yeah, like I said, no worries at all.
Take care, Troy

ordered some rubber tank mounts from them for my dads bike... could have gotten them from the local honda dealer but their price was a bit lower, even with shipping.

it depends on what you want. they either charge you an arm and a leg, or you end up paying practically the same as the local shop.

I don't know, for a company that advertises their fast shipping and service, I was pretty unimpressed by the amount of time it took to get my last order from them. If you're a big catalog house and just distributing components, there's really no reason your order shouldn't go out the same day it's shipped, or at most next business day. Look at other large catalog houses like McMaster Carr, Zappos, etc. Awesome service and super fast shipping. I've gotten parts off e-bay from private sellers across the country faster than I have gotten parts from Bike Bandit. Just my $.02.

I can understand why you gave BB a bad rep, but why not give the name of the company that
I just found a company located in Ford pa that stocks brand new condensers for $14.95 including upgraded shipping.
did good by you.
That'd be useful to somebody.

You are absolutely right. Sorry I missed that. I actually think that might have been a one time deal but I’m not certain. I’ll see if I can find it again. Thanks for pointing it out.

I've used Bike Bandit a bunch and never had any problems... always got my orders right and shipped fast...
