Great work and documentation! I have yet to figure out what I'll do for my rear brake lever and I might have a go at this solution. If you can document the rest of your rear brake as you you finish it off that would be awesome 8)

Can't wait to see the finished product!
Wow thanks guys! I'm glad you like it
First things first, Ducatiboy, here's a quick shot of how the bike currently sits with how I have the kickstand mounted.
Ok, back to the rear brakes.
Next task was to start the tab that the linkage from the rearset will connect to. I decided to use fairly heavy 1/4" steel as that is what the other tab is that pulls on the actual brake rod. I didn't want any undue flex in the brake system, so I decided to copy that thickness.
Don't the rusty chunk of metal, I don't use 1/4" very often so the piece I had in my scrap bucket had been there for quite a while. A few minutes with the flap wheel on my angle grinder and it was cleaned up. I drew out the shape I wanted with about a 2.25" lever arm center-to-center, cut it out with the angle grinder, and then with a combination of the grinder, files, and elbow grease cleaned it up.
Then I wanted to make sure that this tab wouldn't hit the engine, so I set up the brake contraption so that the actual brake rod tab was touching the engine, set the new tab on it and marked the position.
I marked the position of the tab so that I new where to weld it, then started figuring out my holes. I wanted to have a little adjustability, so I decided I on 3 holes. I don't have the correct tap, so I was going to use weldnuts (tapped holes in the 1/4" tab probably would be better). I laid out the weldnuts to make sure I would be able to fit them all, and center punched the holes.
Then I drilled my three mounting holes for the linkage, and also a couple lightening holes.
Next step was to tack it on and bring it back over to the bike and check the fit and pedal travel.
the linkage gets really close to the tab, I might need to do a little clearanceing later
I also checked the travel in the shortest lever setting.
I decided I was happy with it, and welded it up!
More soon!
