Black framed Ace 125

... hehe, I think we ALL have one of those centre stands !

Sanded the black paint off and polished both the side covers during the weekend, love the contrast now.

... btw, this is how I fixed up the exhaust 'note' on my bike ... still deep & bassy, but no more high pitched tinny sounds at high RPM. And still louder than stock, but not obnoxious ... licence friendly with the local constabulary !! (Can't detect any performance difference, no loss of power):

1. Bought this baffle insert (eBay purchase, 170mm long x 46mm OD, perforated).
2. Cut off the baffle end disc (it presented a smaller opening - made the sound more tinny, flappy).
3. Cut and bent the ends on the other side so it's not straight through - so air has to be forced around & thru the perforated holes.
4. (Optional) - inserted some S/S scourer wool inside the silencer (before inserting the baffle). This step helps me to 'fine-tune' the sound to exactly just how I like it. I didn't have to use very much at all ...
5. Inserted baffle into silencer - you will find the outer ring on the baffle mates with & fits snugly against the ring on the silencer. It's a reasonably tight fit.
6. Drilled a hole at bottom of the Silencer, to allow me to fit a self-tapping retention screw.
7. Secured baffle.

Hope it helps those who purchased the 00Racing header & Performance Silencer combo (P/N's 9446 & 8688) and wanted to dampen the noise down a little.

Thinking about doing something to her rear end ... like maybe cutting / shortening or removing the rear guard altogether. Unsure if it'll 'shorten' the overall look of the bike too much, or whether it's best just to preserve it's 'flowing' lines ... hmmm, decisions decisions ...

Hi Haz, Ace's look good both with or without guard. As you can see Crazy's looks good with. But I like the look of mine without. Also depends if you use it in the rain.

I have my rear fender off and commute in the rain. Numberplate seems to do a good job of mitigating any skunk lines.

Thanks for the inspirations, Gents ! ... think it'll probably end up being being a combination of shortening the guard and fitting a smaller tail light.

Will speak to someone about the pro's and con's of laser cutting the rear guard, and whether it'll require repainting.

Ordered this from eBay last night, for ~ $35 ... will see if it works. Reminds me a little of the Ducati Monster's rear end ...
