Blueberry Muffin, the non-traditional cafe build

Been Around the Block
Well, as you will see in the pictures, this is not your ultralight, finesse build. It is based on a GL1100 and though I am trimming things down, it is NOT going to be light.
I have done most of the mods already. I have a set of small front signals to add this weekend and a plate light too. Other than that, it is about where I want it until the riding season ends here in Oregon.
I am going to find a way to hide the rear of the seat for solo riding instead of deleting the rear. My 8 year old likes to ride with me, so I need to keep the rear of the seat functional too. I'll try and build removable cover for it with some c/f I have during the winter.
I also need to pull the false tank and fix all the cracking issues then re-shoot some blue on it. Maybe I'll get bold and re-shape it some.
I also need to build a set of rear-sets as my feet are just a touch too far forward with the clubman bars.

I've changed out the rear light set up, running boards, bars, front fender, color and mirrors. Still to do, cut the exhaust down, rear-sets, cut rear fender, front signals, lower gauge cluster, seat cover... fun, eh?

Anyway... here she is going through some changes so far this fall.

Cool, I got a full figured girl too, I will be riding her to Barber in Alabama starting the 4th 1800 miles one way. Can't wait. Interested to see what you do with the seat. I cut a king and queen down and coveredit in leather. I have to keep 2 up for my wife to ride with me and my son (7) might just have to copy you once I see what you do.

Cheers

Maritime.

I got the plate light mounted tonight... that LED sucker is bright up close! I also mounted the electronic flasher relay and have signals that work. Tomorrrow I will get the new front signals mounted.

Progress is fun!

I will be cutting down the stocker exhaust here this next week! Anything to make this muffin top look thinner!

due to major health issues, the bike has sat untouched for almost 2 years. but, my health is coming back and i hope to convert the seat to something a bit less cumbersome over the winter and i also plan on getting the HUGE front signal lights off and replaced with some little units i picked up.
i know many frown upon calling anything this big a cafe type bike, but i can't seem to find a specific niche to place it in and i like cafes.

cool bike

Off topic for the build, but you're obviously trying to boost your post count for the dcc discount without offering anything constructive. This really t's me off. Stop it.

Good luck with your build my friend.

Build my post count for what? I think I'm lost. I just finally am able to get back to the build. Sorry to have offended.

Not you buddy. The AceCR guy who is posting one liners all over the forum to build his post count up to get the dime city discount code. You didn't do anything wrong, your thread is just the newest one that came up. Carry on my friend and build that bike!

My first attempt at building rear sets failed miserably. I was trying not to buy a 'universal kit' but I might have to. Mine look aweful and function marginally. Oh well, it's still progress even if it is a failure.
