This is one sick build!! 8)

Stupid broken foot's got me grounded for another 3 1/2 weeks, then i'll be on it again.

Anyone know a resonable custom painter that can spray my tins??? Want some hard core 70's metal flake.

Hey boys,

Sorry for the hiatus, still nursing this stupid broken foot, and now they're sending me to a specialist to see why its not healing as fast as it should. Been 7 weeks now since I broke it and its still not even healed half way.

Super frustrating!!!!

On a happier note, and in seeing as I havn't been able to really work on the bike much I decided to excarsize my wallet a bit.

Got me a brand new set of Mikuni VM34's, pod filters and manifolds, and a whole load of jets and it cost me just over $500.00

Now I just need to heal up and get back to work

I'm not a doctor or anything, but I have broken my foot three times. Blood flow is key to healing. Keep your foot warm, I used those Toasty Toes things, like hand warmers but for your feet. Also calcium and vitamin D supplements. Calcium is the building block, and vitamin D allows your body to absorb as much as it needs. Take them together.

great build, btw. I love the look of new carbs

As a reminder, you may have some tuning issues with the filters. Most like to run foam Uni's on the triples. It's the flat backs on the k&n style filters that can have the pulse bounce back and cause some issues. Some are running them with no problems though.

Thanks boys, yup I've been on the Vit and Calcium for a while, and dont really drink either. I could have a case of beer for 2 months easy if it were just me drinkin it.
It just seems any small bump or nudge sets me back two weeks. My docs trying to get me in to see a specialist but the wait times seem to be between 6-8 months, so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

As for the pod filters I can put the foam on the inside no problem, plus you got to remember I've already done the aylor reed upgrade which should also solve any of the pulse bounce back.

I'm fairly familiar with how to jet these, plus the boys on the KTC site are a huge help with fine tuning these things as well. Hopefully I should have it handled, but I will ask for help if I run into trouble.

So broken foot and all I decided I was gonna park my ass on a rolly stool and get my sorry ass abck to work.
I cleaned up the jugs and heads the other day, and got them in a coat of Black VHT. Man I like this stuff and it drys really fast.

Thanks John
Mot so sure about the BOTM but i'm doin my best, and I glad that you think it may be worthy when she is done. Its definately been a fun, but very long build.

I did some more work over the past few nights. I cleaned up some of my side covers, drilled some speed holes. and finished up cutting the transfer ports in my pistons.
I was able to get most of the motor buttoned up and reed valves installed last night.

I'm gonna try and get at painting my clutch as stator covers tonight so that I can completely close up the motor and put a finished stamp on it.

Here's some shots of how i drilled the transfer ports in the pistons. This is all part of the Aylor Reed kit i bought, its a bit of work, and a lot of porting but I'm hoping the end result will be worth it.

Here's a few shots of the motor going back together.
Sorry I forgot to take apic of the pistons all finished up but they looked great. I guess the exitement overcame me. lol

Are any of you guys having trouble withteh VHT paint chipping very easily fron your motor. I've nicked it in a few spots and have found that it chips off very easily. I preped all of the surfaces very well, and washed everything with a wax a grease remover prior to spraying them. I really hope its not going to be a problem :-[ !

Didn't get to do too much work on the bike this past weekend, but I did get to shoot my engine covers yesterday. They are the same color as my wheels and should flow nicely with the look im planning for the bike.

Hopefully I can get the motor bolted in tonight and I'll have some more show n tell stuff tomorrow.

Cheers.
D.
