Brake lines

Screwing things up daily
Does anyone know of any reasons why I couldn't simplify a brake line set up from something like what is in the attached picture to single line that goes directly from the caliper to the front master cylinder? If I can do that, I can replace this line for less than 50 bucks. If not, it's looking more like 130 or so.

Thanks in advance.

Depends where the stoplight is activated from.

In my case, CB550, it is a pressure sensor ( situated mid hose) so I could not simplify as much as I wanted.

I did simplify the bottom end by eliminating the steel tube. My braided line runs straight to the calliper.

Well, this is for the front brake on a Honda NX650 and the switch is mounted on the master cylinder, so that wouldn't be any problem.
