Broke extractor off in screw head

I was pulling the right side case cover off my CB to get at the clutch and since just about every screw was stripped I started using the Grabit to extract the screws. Well, one screw was in there good and the extractor bit broke right off in it. Any help on how to get the screw out now? Can those bits be drilled out?

Ouch I have a set of Nicholson (I think) Left hand Cobalt drill bits they might take them.

The set I have is sold by SNAP ON, they work great turning VERY slow and must be straight, being L/H they will bite and turn the screw out if your not straight the bit sometimes breaks.

Did you try an impact driver first?
Welding a nut might be an option.
You need to break the threads lose.
Heat - expandtion/contraction
Shock - impact driver
Steel and aluminum like to seaze to each other, there is a word for it but can't remember right now.

Galvanic reaction,

We've all been there, just be patient and it will come out. Take lotsa breaks n save the beer for after, good luck. A small cold chisel may be used to work the damaged extractor reverse rotation to get that out, then drill head off, remove cover and depending on length of shaft u could fit a pair of grips on it and work it out?

I used vise grips on some of my screws. Works great.

Ended up using the dremel and cutting a slot across the head. The extractor fell out and I was able to use a large flat-head screwdriver to pull the bolt. These bolts suck, ordered stainless to replace them once I get the others out.

stainless can seize just as bad if you're fastening to aluminum. use some anti-seize compound before putting it back in.

+1 on the anti-seize. I use it on all fasteners that don't get Loctite. A word of caution with regard to anti-seize: When used, a bolt requires about 20% less torque to achieve the required tension, so it is easy to overtighten when using it.

you can chip it out...e z outs are hardened steel... but can be a bitch man... got any pics of what you are workign wtih there? take a punch and smack on that sucker on angles and it will chip (eye protection)... i have been there bud here is the nightmare i had to deal with last year... being that they are hardened even carbide bits will not touch it... but the T method worked for you so thats a plus! here is what i had to deal with
i snapped an ez out in my hub when my pully bolts sheered
had to mill it out
you can see it in there

The other option you can try is to tack weld a nut over the screw head and back it out with
a wrench.
