Well, if I remove the bags and bracket, it frees up enough of the thread to put a nut on. I would like to fix it eventually and make better mounts for the hard bags. I know this doesn't seem all that cafe, but i figured you guys have dealt with enough rusty bikes to point me in the right direstion.
