well ladies and gentleman here is my newest project ;D ;D ;D.
a liitle bit of work but not much and she will be sweeeeeeeeet
the #s are GS75X-160216 i dont have the foggiest idea what engine this is.but someone i talked to said that it makes a big differance.depending on the letter.IE t or x or whatever other #s they had.im a honda cb nut so this should prove to be an fun experience.now i just need a shop manual and im on my way.any imput would be great.thanks Neil
YES! What you have there is the 16valve model as opposed to the 8 valve. The way you can tell is the two rectangular caps on the ends of the cams. The 8 valve model has round caps. The 8 valver was fast, but the 16 valve is much faster!
well thats good to know.its my first Suzuki.i had a 81 yamaha seca a few years back.but i didnt know shit about fixing bikes.had to pay ontario cycle salvage every time something went wrong.i have been fooling around most of the afternoon with this one ;Dlooks fairly simple.thats why i like the honda CB's.there easy to work on.on the 500's and 550's you can leave the engine in the frame on a tear down.i have a trickle charger on it at the moment.tommorow ill do a tune up and take her for a rip.i cant wait
anybody know what the gap is on the valves.i wouldnt mind setting those in the interm.also what spark plugs do i use? on my hondas i use D7EA.i think these shoud be D8E's but im not sure.i will have to look around for a manual.i tried downloading one from a site posted here but it wouldnt allow me access.
well i have found out a bit about these bike the last few days.
it was sold only in north america.so it is a bit rare.everywhere else it has dual front and rear disks and differant rims.
if i dont find an E model frame or basket case i will restore to original.
parts are on there way.i need a tank and emblems from the side covers.
other than that since i wasnt looking for this bike.a friend told me about it as i was looking for a bit of a bigger bike for longer highway trips.not that a cb 550 cant handle it.i drove to perry sound and back a few times this summer on it without any problems at all.i needed some more umph.
i need a manual to get started properly and then we will see over the winter.
with some tweeking apparently you can get over 105 bhp (so i hear) ;D
I was gonna say somethin bout that bike having a drum in back...to my knowledge they'd been stock with disc since importation to the US. But in this day and age it could have been converted for one reason or another. Thats cool tho man. Rare Zuk 750 Even better heheh
Check out thegsresources.com good help and tips there. And if you need any parts lemme know... i have an 80 750e that im parting out. Lots of good stuff in real good shape. Myself i have a 77 750B that im currently working on. Looking forward to seeing some of your progress!!
