Bryan Fuller's SOHC CB750!!!

Holy shit. Argumentative??? Seriously. Just my opinion. Von we have never met, i would like to meet you. Everytime i give my opinion on something, you hate on me.
You take this TOO personal.

Can someone tell me where on the patent application is says Von is the king of all things motorcycle..??

I like the bike, its nicer than mine.

So this site is full of mechanical engineers. I had no idea. Why are they not using any bikes from this website? They used his because of his TV cred. "people know who he is" or can recognize him from overhauling or two guys garage.

Ok so maybe they only made a handful of sand cast hondas, but they made a bunch of 750's. Maybe not the best example to chop up.

How does the saying go? " anyone can restore one, but it takes a man to cut one up"

I would be willing to bet a handful of members on this site would Turn Down an opportunity to be on this show. Did you watch the last episode? 90% of it was completely meaningless, and had virtually nothing to do with actual motorcycles. With that said, have you noticed how many bikes on this website have been featured on Very popular websites and blogs, such as bikeexif?

Thanks.

Von isn't.
I am ;D
The issue is the bunch of retards who are going to 'copy' and make an even better death trap.
They won't ride the bikes they build, just get a quick turnover to make money ::)
Fullers comment about frame building /modifying is the most stupid thing I have heard in a long time

A man or village idiot. I was hesitant to cut up my 750f, but I know my F is way more common than a sandcast.

Thats an argumentative statement.

Not opinion.

And as far as me being a hillbilly or whatever you said, thats just stupid.

Youre right, you dont know me. And I dont know you. I also dont "hate" on everything YOU say. When anyone here or anywhere else I may come across them says something which I feel to be incorrect or misplaced, I sure as hell feel the need to point it out.

If that makes me a bad person, or a jerk... Well oh fuckin' well.

If you remember, at the beginning of my post in response to the topic at hand, I made it clear that it was entirely my opinion.

I have never crowned myself (and I can gurantee you no one else has either) the "king of motorcycles". I dont know shit compared to many here on DTT and a whole boat load more in the real world.

What I do know is that when morons who care more about money and TV shows build custom bikes that are poorly designed and downright dangerous, it is bad for EVERYONE involved with motorcycling.

You may like the bike in question, and thats your perrogative. Doesnt mean that youre right. I dont like the bike becuase its a bad design, its dangerous, it was built for all the wrong reasons, and (IN MY OPINION) its fucking ugly. Does that make me right? A little bit. I dislike it for real, practical reasons. All emotion, ooohhs, and ahhhs aside.

And to reference your comment about me taking this "TOO seriously", piss off. I do take this seriously. I care about the members here and their safety. Do you want to see some 17 year old kid, whos new to this scene try and emulate the design of a bike that may just end up getting them killed, or do you want to see a new generation of builders and riders who KNOW what the fuck their talking about and doing?

I dont in ANY way know everything about motorcycles and their design, nor do I pretend to. I do know that if I see something that I can instantly see is fucked from the get-go, than Ill say so. Because again, I dont want to see mistakes repeated.

And if I have "hated" on you in the past, I hope it was for good reason. If not, I apologize. But if it was for a good reason, I stand by everything Ive said.

Im trying hard not to be pissed off about your (bullshit?) comments about me as a person right now. Especially because Im aware that online things dont always come across the way they're meant. If you really have some sort of issue with me, well thats sad. We would probobly get along.

Unless of course you really are the kind of person that get so riled up about people with differing points of view that you feel the need to call them childish names on the internet. Than we're better off not actually knowing one another. If you think Im a dick here, you should talk shit to me in person.

All B.S. aside, I will again apologize if you were just busting balls. And if not, fuck you.

All show and no go.
Did you notice when Fuller "rode" the bike he had his left foot angled down as to let him not lean the bike over to far?
As for performance,I have a KZ1000st,600lbs. and shaft drive,
that I would not hesitate putting up against his "creation".
Slap nuts Fuller is just a show boat.

.

Also, talking shit on the Steelers is only ok if your team has won six super-bowls. Have they? Anyone? Bueller, Bueller?

;)

I take offense to the hillbilly comment, just because your from the hills or country or anything else does not make you stupid or unqualified to give an opinion of something. I will say for von anything he has written that could have been mistaken for an insult, 90% isn't an insult its him trying to educate or give a personal opinion. No need to get hurt over it. But back to the hillbilly comment, i was brought up country with many of my kin living in the rural portions of the mountians. Some how i made it to being a nuclear mechanic in the navy and have my bachelors in mathmatics. I'm pretty sure even if i didn't know the engineering off the top of my head i could look it up and figure out how to do it properly, and usually the first clue that i did it wrong was because i was willing to listen to someone who was pointing it out to me. Sometimes the best thing to do if you get your bottom hurt is to just ignore it and go about your business. Don't go calling people names or assuming anything cause you'll end up pissing other people off.

+1

GS850 Shafty, 550lbs and rowdy. I'd love to see how much of a fight it could pick with me up here at the U.S. 129 Dragon! ;D

Wow. I step away to do some work and buy a tree and what happens, I miss a brawl. AFAIK, the back story to the bike was that it wasn't sand cast but it was early and the owner supposedly knew what was going to happen. Most of the rest of the shock and awe was staged - or so I'm told and I read it on the interweb, so it must be true.

There is some seriously neat fab work in that bike, but I have grave doubts as to whether it could be ridden safely. That chin dragging stance is exaggerated by the propped up tank etc and that makes it look all wrong and probably doesn't enhance its handling in a positive way.

And for the record I did graduate with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, but that doesn't mean that I have done any measurements or calculations on that bike, so I can't say for sure that it won't work, but my opinion is that it is a dangerous example to set because in all probability it will not be functional in the true sense of that term.

That's my opinion. Other people like Von and Kanticoy have expressed their opinions and I agree with most of what they said. I haven't met any of you on this board as far as I know, so I'm not taking sides, but we don't need to start throwing insults around.

That bike was the result of a TV show and is not a real motorcycle. Guys like Fuller are talented metal smiths but they are not engineers. They are in this for the publicity to build their businesses and get their names out there. It's marketing and has no more connection to reality than any other reality TV show.

We have better things to do with our energies than get all excited about a TV show gone bad. Lighten up guys. Let's talk about real bikes. Summer is almost over already and we can't afford to waste time on this BS.

Damn! A few hours away from a supposedly played out topic has blown up and turned kinda nasty! I can't believe so few of us like the thing...

Yeah, the feelings apparently run pretty strong against Fuller and his build. Maybe the thread should just be shut down?

na i like drama... I also kinda like the bike in a way that i would like to own an alpha romero, or a renault..

I would love to do a monoshocked cafe, or even a single sided swing arm cafe, but I don't have the engineering background or the tools to do such radical stuff to a frame. So, I admire from afar. The most radical thing I'm attempting is a front end swap. :-D

Wow, this thread really revved up in the last couple days. Oh well, despite me thinking the bike is kinda cool looking, I still. Rand by what I originally said about "why a 69?" If the wanker wanted to cut up a 750, why not a yea like 75? There's a lot more of them about. But commerciallism is the name of the game, and he's out for rep and advertising. Best thing we can probably do is look the other way and ignore him. Im sure he will b at barber this year, so there's an oportunity to shun him if anyone feels the need... ::)
