BSA Bantam Bull Sh!t Art - Voting time!

Re: BSA Bantam Bull Sh!t Art - Top 5!

Thanks everyone!

So now as promised a few pics of the weekend.

I left home at 6:30 Friday morning, picking up a good mate and his bike before heading up for what turned out to be a 13 hour drive to Sydney by the time we'd picked up some last minute supplies and battled Sydney's peak hour and one way streets. We got an hour or 2 work done finishing off the second bike that evening before calling it a night so that we could get up at the crack of dawn Saturday.

Saturday morning it was straight down to the venue for an incredible day. So many cool bikes, some with incredible build quality, great crowds all day, good food put on by Deus and perfect weather. Was blown away to get the BSA into the top 5 after 3 months work, especially being one of the first bikes I have worked on!

Sunday was pleasantly uneventful, with the return trip to Melbourne managed in around 10 hours, although I could not believe the 8+ speed trap police cars we saw on the Hume on the drive!

Anyway, a lineup of some of the great bikes waiting to sign in:

This thing was just crazy, especially being built in 24 hours!

My favourite Brat look of the day, although the old rear tank mount would have been very effective at castration:

Re: BSA Bantam Bull Sh!t Art

I like all of this! Well done sir.

Haha, and it's funny because I'm sketching a BMX/Freestyle build right now.

Re: BSA Bantam Bull Sh!t Art

If anyone is reading this thread from Melbourne, Australia, then there is a great event which you should be getting down to this weekend.

Oil Stained Brain is on for the second year running and by all accounts it will be even bigger and better then last time. We have been lucky enough to be invited to show the BSA as one of the 30 or so bikes on display and can't wait to see what else will be there.

This year the event will be held at the Kustom Commune in Collingwood, which is an inner city communal motorcycle workshop due to open a week after the event, so if you are interested by the workshop it will be a great chance to take a sneak peak at that as well.

Full details of the event can be found at http://oilstainedbrain.com.au/ or on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/535555426526014/

Re: BSA Bantam Bull Sh!t Art

Deus Ex Machina's international voting has commenced for the 2013 buildoff! There are some great bikes out there and I'm wrapped to have Bull Shit Art in the mix. To vote for my little bike click here:http://deuscustoms.com/bikebuildoff/vote/entrant/666/ You can see all the other cool entries here: http://deuscustoms.com/bikebuildoff/vote/

Thanks! 1 week of voting down and the BSA is creeping up towards 400 votes, putting me around 10th position which I am wrapped with given the quality of competition and my lack of bike building experience. I would love to hit 500 before voting closes next Monday.

Not to sound too negative, but I have been wondering about it for a while... and this latest pic makes me have to ask.
Is there any travel in those forks before the tire contacts the downtube of the frame? Granted there is only a couple coils of a spring showing, but is it rideable on anything but thesmootest surfaces?

No travel at all in the front or rear suspension. It wasn't intended to be that tight in the front, but I built it without bearings in when setting up the dimensions and bearings tightened it up a fair bit.

Having said that we were riding it around Chopped Rod n Custom around a month back as it is, it was good fun at low speeds on the grass and dirt roads, but pretty bouncy on the rough dirt drag strip!

Voting's all over, 9th in the world :)

I delivered the Bantam to a new loving home on the weekend which makes room for a new project even more unusual...

can you post the link to the new project so we can follow along?

im interested in "even more unusual"

Hi Wership,

I'm happy to post the new project in a new thread on here but not sure if it will fit in anywhere, as it is currently looking like being a Mitsubishi Silver Pigeon! (1960's 200cc scooter)

agreed! ^^^

there are much smaller engines on this site... 200cc is good enough for the ton in some hands!
