Hello DTT,

My name is Brett, I'm from NC, and this is my Honda cafe......

It's a 1981 Honda GL1100. That's right.....a Gold Wing!

It started life as a full dress Interstate. I removed and promptly sold the "extras" on Ebay to fund the build.

I built the rear cowl out of a spare tank cover, added Tomaselli clip-ons, aftermarket gauges, a scrap yard headlight, and shorty Dunstall copies. Basically everything else is factory Honda.

Oh....just about forgot! The name......I worked at a multi-line dealer here in town for a while. one of the mechanics said, "That thing's too big to be s Cafe Racer! It's more like a Buffet Racer!" The name stuck!

Update: Pics from today.....

Hope you like it.

Be on the lookout for a couple project bikes for sale!!!!!

Good looking bike! As long as you do not race from buffet to buffet. One buffet is enough!

Did you know some brave soul actually raced a GW at the LeMans 24 hour race in the 70's?

But it was in a Dresda frame IIRC and put together by Mocheck I think. Gotta love people who think differently.

Too cool saw one on Criagslist for 300.00 pretty trashed though. Still wanted it though.Awsome.

Yanno, me being a big guy, one of those might suit me better. I think I look funny on the 750 but I fit on my Venture. Love the trunk lid. Darnit, I might have to go look for one of these now and get rid of my 76 project. Geez, thanks a lot Brett. :)
