CA DMV driving test - vehicle inspection ?

timeconsuming

Foolish until proven intelligent.
Hey guys

Still riding on my permit but it expires in May and I'm considering just going and getting the test over with for the sake of maybe reducing my insurance rate with the endorsement.

Anyway, I'm wondering if there is a sort of bike inspection during/before/after the riding test? Like if I don't have functioning turn signals will I have to come back when they're sorted, that kind of thing.

Also I've heard the test is pretty simple and you can stay in first for most of it, anyone have a hard time passing?

Cheers

Well, when I took my test after only putting on about a 100 miles, I was one of the two who passed of the five who tested. I live in MN. Nothing was mentioned about turn signals here. Stayed in first. Another thing to think about too is keeping the choke on when you do test. Less chance of stalling out. If Cali's test is anything like MN, you'll do a weave test through cones and rated if you put a foot down or not. Which I did not do for all four stations. Then there's a 90 degree turn, a rapid stop and a dodge. The guy who tested us told us before we went into the doge portion that he will tell us what direction to go. Starting off like the rapid stop, short distance to get to speed, then hit the line and the direction he wanted us to dodge to. A lot simpler of a test in all than what everyone told me. But, I still have plans to take the class anyways to save on insurance as well as it can't hurt. I just need the cash first. Good luck with it. At least you get to ride all year round.
