Your set up is gonna kill some one even if you tip the scales at 120 you ever hit a bump christ, a few years back a guy on the board totaled his bike and got hurt for the same reason and befor hand he had the say line "i only weigh, i only ride ect." you know how much travel the rear end of that bike has while its being ridden. Use your head. What if you sell it and hurt the next guy. That rear tire need more room. didnt the guy that sold you all the "cafe racer parts" tell you that. there more to buildin bikes than buying parts .you gotta be more plain for the worst ,and less i bet it would look kool

There's more than 3 inches of travel available between the plate and the tire, which is more than enough for me. But I did recomend to the new owner to put a set of 13.5 inch shocks on it for the very reasons you wrote.
 
that's a real winner in my book....I dig the color scheme too, one I had in mind at some point.


I'm thinking of the same thing for my seat, tell me about yours.

I carved out of blue insulation foam, covered it in blue painters tape. I used 5/16 tubing for the rolled edge; it allows you to recess the seat pan into the seat and give it a smooth edge.
 
Great looking bike. I plan a similar build on my Bonneville. To debut this spring, hopefully! ;)
 
Hey, Fantastic looking bike. Nice classic cafe racer style.
I would like to know more about the bike. Especially the rear brake drum venting and what front end you used to mount your disk brake. I am working on a older CL 350.
I am also curious about this "shootout"? Is this something that happens regularly there in Daytona? I didn't know about it. Live not to far away and may check one out whne it happens again?
