"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Re: "Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Unfortunately turned out the way I suspected. Really really rough shape, an 82 rather than an 84, wouldn't start, and was a 750 rather than an 1100. As soon as I saw it, I asked him if it was an 1100 for sure. Oh ya ya for sure. Run the vin, and surprise surprise, not so much. So as much as that bike needs to be rescued, it won't be me pulling it out of the snow.

Poor Katana, pity it is a 750.

Probably could have gotten it for 2-300 to be honest. But it was honestly that rough. Frame and engine might have been salvageable and that is about it. I was taken aback at how much the pictures hid.

I just have to cry out, why oh why do this to a classic?

Now if we could just get the BOTM to be more about motorcycles and less about a pile of metal that kinda looks like a functioning motorcycle we would be on the right track....

Surr be interesting to know that story of how it got to the point it is.

I wanta know the race history!

Not a huge fan of the tracy body work, but it is period and does make sense as to its use on this bike.

I feel like running after having one's ass raped wouldn't be a particularly speedy affair. I was hoping they would be more impressive that that. :)
