"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

http://lincoln.craigslist.org/mcy/5060571708.html

"not a hack job".... "get compliments at stop lights" Why do people advertise this way?!!!

The only things done to the bike were a hideous seat, bar change, and junk pods installed. All compliments of Half Breed Cycles in Lincoln Nebraska, whom I had never heard of before asking this guy who he paid to "build" his bike. Oh so professional.

I've seen shed-built bikes that are exponentially nicer than this,,, thing. $3000 is about 2200 too high for a flat black 750 with 44k miles on it.

In my opinion.

Can't imagine that front end doing anything useful. Raked out so far turning the bars would just flop the front wheel into the ground..

its what ya git sometimes when somebody ignorant of how a motorcycle functions decides to build something different, just a non functioning group of parts

Ya gotta remember not all bikes were built to race. This one served it's purpose of being nothing but a look. As long as it went down the street you looked cool. It didn't have to be fast, or handle well, or actually be safe, well because, all motorcycles are unsafe.

I actually think it has lots of style. Those old custom tanks and springer fronts on gooseneck frames can bring serious money when nostalgia gets involved.

That is a killer bike!
Not being funny and saying it will kill you.
I mean it is killer and I want it!
SO much fun to be had with real choppers.

Not the bullshit choppers that people call "café/bratt style what ever"

"Do The Ton "Cafe" Racer"... I really don't get why you belong to a forum for "café" bikes yet you bag on them... even when it's not relevant. Did your puppy get eaten by a bear or something

Easy killer.
This is the web, its not real life.
Try and have some fun.

My dig is how many people in fact are building things that normally would fall under the "chopper" banner but insist on calling them "café racers"
I am talking about non functional piles like this.

There is nothing racer about it.
It is a chopper, or more importantly build with the chopper ethos.

Personally I like all kinds of bikes.
I happen to have owned and do own what I view as "vintage performance" bikes that used to be called café racers, before pipeburn ruined the term.
I also happen to love choppers. Have you seen my death trap?

Just trying to maintain an honest playing field.
Maybe it is just a pet peeve about the term café racer.
Probably can explain it better over a beer.

Have not meet many DTT members in person.
Have from other sites though.
