"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

I appreciate the effort, but question the reason. I bet he has a source of cheap diesel.

The base engine is 10HP. Even if it is 15HP, that's a lot of money for a non-standard configuration.

A lot of scooters, a lot cheaper NEW, are that fast, same MPG, and parts and service are available.

Not want....Plus those Yanmars are heavy. They are used on mowers, truck refrigeration units, etc.

Great motors, but not for a motorcycle....

Screw you guys, I want this...

Sorry for the previous bad url, this is the one I had intended to post.

I actually quite like that! Seems strange to me though that the tach is such a conspicuous glob on an otherwise tidy bike.

That's a good price for what seems to be a great bike.

Thats a nice base for a project. If it was $1600 cheaper.

Not advertised as a café bike (but use your imagination and think of the potential!). This one just needs a little TLC.

But if you're low on TLC, strong legs will do.
Since when does "needs a little TLC" mean "needs a complete engine"?

Might go take a look after work

Nice tank and are those are a set of lectron carbs?

That is a TZ250E 1978 model and worth money with the right engine in it. Not registerable for street use and can't be raced because there is no class that allows that motor, but that's just details.

Looks better than the first one I bought with an air cooled RD motor. Hope that the frame isn't too butchered.

Those 18" slicks have not been available for a very long time, but the wheels and the tank etc all look OK. I sold an OEM fairing and seat for one of those after I sold my last one. May still have a stock seat here somewhere :)

Get the bike and add an RD bottom end with 400 trans and a junk 400 frame to get the VIN and don't do too many miles on it or the frame will crack. You could build a 6 speed dry clutch trans but the cost is a little high.

Not craig's list but a gem on ebay, here's a CB 450 bobber project. Comes with "HUGS".

Is it me or is it impossible to spell check and proof read just a little before posting? ::)

Also one of my pet peeves - if it's so frickin' easy to get a title, then do it and sell it as a titled bike. Just quit telling us how easy it is, because in most states it's not!

And from an engineering standpoint, I'm not crazy about the upper shock mounts- direction of force is almost parallel to the weld/mounting surface.
