I've been meaning to ask... How many of the motorcycles do you call people about details and price that you never intend to actually buy? "never" not "maybe" or "if it has/had..." I mean basically harassing people to subside boredom

Boondoggle said:No data, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't true. That's kind of how motor oil production works. I worked at the Chevron Refinery in Richmond California for a decade and most of the motor oil sold west of the Rockies was produced there and sold under pretty much any label. Sometimes the final seller added detergent, etc...but usually not. There were a couple exceptions but not many.

We were using Sun oil for while for the base stock, but I know we have used Exxon/Mobil and Castrol in the past. At any rate,a spectrometer analysis tells us if the customer was using our oil, someone eleses, or a non-spec oil.
I would not be surprised if any Honda/Yamaha, etc oil is made by "local" oil companies, but the additives are to their respective owners.

One caveat though...the process can be made much easier or much more of a hassle just depending on the mood your particular DMV contact is in that day. I'm surprised at the arbitrary decisions I've witnessed at the DMV...
...most of them in my favor because I'm sooooooo sweet.

They're CL trolls? Why?redwillissuperman said:All day long the Security Staff (mainly retired Police officers) read Craigslist from around the US and call/email to fill their day. They tell the sellers how they used to have one just like that but they put in platinum spark plugs and it was 10mph faster. They especially like making offers just to see how much they could buy something for. They use "calling cards" from the 90's that allow them to pick a local area code. It's weird.
