Coast to Coast
got tattooed today for the first time since may. with everyone being so booked and having appts at different times in the day, its crazy how hard it is to get tattooed when you work at a tattoo shop!

anyway, i drew this up a while ago, little skully with an old school lid. pic sucks, but its a real awkward place on my arm, ill get a better pic later. here it is...

I like it. Been looking to get some home school ink covered up. What I would really like is to get a Polynesian style collar. My own graphics and just the Polynesian placement. Where it loops around from right to left just below the shirt collar.

Looks sweet Mike. Nice work bud.
Got a question. How hard is it to match skin color?? I'm fair complected and would be a place where the sun never shines. So how would a patch about the size of a baseball look done in skin tone? Hahaha, can you guess why I ask

I've heard of covering up an old tattoo with a new one, so I figured skin color would be like cheap Tat removal. I no longer ...a friend no longer wants a tattoo where it's located ;D. Sorry for the hijack.

Cool tat man. I've always wanted to get a tat but could just never really come up with something that I could see myself living with forever. But that sir i could see being cool when I'm old and wrinkly.

noo it doesnt work that way man. a lighter color just doesnt cover an old one, and also, say you were to just get a big black circle over your existing one, if theres any scarring at all itll show through. the trick to cover ups is something with alot of busy stuff, like flowers, etc. so that itll cover the tattoo up, but at the same time not draw the eye to any scarring.

and as for not knowing what to get, get what feels right. i have lots of random stuff. ive been riding motorcycles and dirtbikes now for 10 years and ive fell in love with classic bikes and cafes so i figured now would be a good time to get this little guy.

That is very awesome. I really like it a lot.

I'm actually making a trip out to Atlanta to get inked tomorrow. Hopefully get a few hours in on my Right sleeve, but the main trip reason is because I am getting a very old school black and white Victrola on my left forearm (working on finishing that sleeve). Here's the design.

The reason I chose this is my love of all things vintage, and my love of music led me to something that represents both. Like you said. Follow your heart and make it something you'll always love.

On a side note though, everyone who is tattooed to any large degree has at least one really retarded one. It ends up happening at some point if you go down that long road....Don't worry, it's a battle scar Troy!

Very nice Mike. I love that. Diggin the old school flavor in that one.

I want mine to look antique. That's the whole idea anyway.

I'm not a tattoo professional by any means, but I did major in art in school and am heavily tattooed. A friend of mine wanted me to ink him in a certain style, so here's my first time wielding a gun, first time ever tattooing at all. Not bad for a rookie who is used to paper medium!

The original red flowers were there before and I free handed the rest around it. Thought it was cool, and he liked it when it was done...it was fun to be on the other end of the needle for the day...I respect you guys for doing that day in day out. It takes patience.

(**disclaimer**I do not condone tattoos done by people who don't know what they're doing...this was in a tattoo shop under clean conditions**)

as long as you did it in a shop. i could go on and on and on and on and on and on and onnnnnnn about the risks of home tattoos.

Oh yeah. Eon Tattoo. Good friend of mine who is a paramedic/tattoo artist. Owns his own shop. Cool cat. Trust me dude, if anybody knows the risks, us blood bourne pathogen pros (a.k.a. Medics) know all about it.

But you're right. I've seen horrendous stuff come out of somebody's kitchen...

oh yeah, im less concerned with bad tattoos and way more concerned with bbp's. scary scary shit that people dont take into consideration when getting a tattoo at their kitchen table. its upsetting. people will do this because its cheaper, glad it was worth getting hep and or mrsa and a shitty tattoo to save a few bucks. haha

NICE WORK Mike!!! If your ever in Pittsburgh long enough, or if I ever make it to Detroit, Id love to have you add to my sleeve Im working on...
