CAMPING

Man Of Constant Throttle
Do any of you guys ever do this around here? Getting a bit late in the season but I find it the best time (less bugs, crisp and cool, better sleep). I've got an OCD arsenal of diminutive MEC camping gear that folds/packs down ultralight, it all fits in saddlebags or even backpack, but I've yet to go just on bike.
Be fun to do for a night, somewhere like Owenda (just an hour north/east). Do peyote, kill a bear, become one with the Great Spirit etc.

In the 60s and 70s my wife and I did the pup tent thing all around europe. When i was racing around Ireland I had a large two room tent. It took a while but I finally found out how to go camping properly. Its 28 years old but everything works. Its been to Bonneville, El Mirage and other places and it beats the daylights out of tents. Forget the peyote bear killin' unity with the eagle stuff.

Hot Damn, Noyko, that's some Rambo shit. I could never see how you sleep in those if you can't turn/move, but that's ultimate lightweight gear. I've got bad sleep issues and I used to be really amazed at the stories of biker dudes in the 60s that would just lay down in the desert and sleep. I thought they were just that tough, but then I read the Sonny Barger book and he talks about how one of them got or made some crazy pills that would black you out for 12 hours where you fell. Still badass, but not in the Survivorman way like I had thought.

Ativan-they use them to tranq psyche paitents; they can also relax you so much you piss yourself. I worked in the mental health field for sometime and can attest to it. I figure the Angels would probably do it after coming down from a long run on speed. I don't think it's the kind of thing you'd want to do out in the desert, but there seemed to be a real disregard for personal safety with the Angels ;D
