can't separate fork end cap to remove front axle

the brake side axle holder or what I call end cap will not pop apart so I can't separate the front wheel from the fork
is there a trick to this or do I have to get a hammer and chisel and beat it apart ??

do you have the nuts off of it? If they are, smack it with a rubber mallet.

OK I got a pic of it ..

oh god... heat it up a bit with a propane torch then hit it with some penetrating oil. smack it with a hammer after that. the heat will draw in the oil and help seperate it.
