Carb float sticking. Why?

What is the cause of carb floats sticking? (apart from being dirty or holed)

I have one on my CB550 that does this on occasion and it requires a bit of a tap to sort it out.

Bowl and float are clean.

FWIW - the carb has been rejetted.

Could it be a bent needle ?

Nah, it's just a piece of dirt. Next time it happens, after the tapping clears it. empty and clean the float bowl. Should work. If not, pull the offending carb apart, and clean it. Make sure the float, pin, needle, and seat are all clean, and all are in good shape.

try carefully knocking out the pin that holds ur floats in place clean the pin and any places the pin goes through
ie.. where the pin slides through ur floats and the carb body where the pin goes in
????

carb cleaner / tooth brush / qtips / even pipe cleaners ....are your friend
