Carb slide position 75 cb125

Hey all, picked up a little cb125 for cheap and busing something out of it. I pulled the carb to replace throttle cable and also clean it. I should have taken pictures before disassembly but, I realized the slide in the carb isn't a perfect cylinder. On one edge their is a half circle shape shaved out of the bottom side of it. When I reassemble it I'm trying to figure out which position this needs to be in. Any help would be great. I'm typically a complete moron with carb stuff, so I'm sure it's an easy fix but I'm clueless. Help! Thanks!

the cut away portion is away form the engine, the air hits it first
think of it acting to funnel or help to wedge the air through the carburetor
that all said it should only fit in one way because of the slot on the side engages a bit inside

Thanks for the reply! I'm pretty sure mine isn't slotted in any way? But I'll take a closer look and position it with the cut out towards the filter. Thanks!
