Caulk for Liqud Electrical Tape?

So, will latex caulk work as liquid electrical tape? I know they are both dielectric, and they both seal. Any thoughts?

I only ask because I can't find LET but have tons of caulk.

Don't have an ace, and the joker at the Depot looked at me like I was on fire... Guess I'll keep looking or place an online order and wait. Not my strong point though.

Brush on to cover electrical connections.

my only concern about the latex is that it will break down over time and it isn't oil/fuel/solvent resistant. What about Harbor Freight?
