Nice work yozz mate coming on a treat, good idea for the engine stand hows the electricary coming on what ya doin bout a loom

Thanks silky .I haven't started electrics yet still planing my diagram out going to try make my own from scratch .I was hoping to get engine in frame this week but I've had problems with the paint on engine .I wasn't 100% happy with it so I did it again .done it 3 times now still keeps reacting .going to give it another go today .it's really pissing me off

Had mine react a bit too so I ended up using vht etch primer first, so far the motor although not run for long hasn't had no reaction, gave it a good blast of heat from heat gun before I primed and top coated not sure it made a difference hope you get sorted mate it will be worth it, cos it looks great in the pics .

Your engine is made up of many different types of castings, all which have different porous surfaces. Depending on what cleaner you used, and any kind of pre-wipe, those are retained in those pores. Your problems will only get worse once the engine is run and heat cycled. Also, paints themselves have reducers that must flash off. New "low VOC" paints are horribly slow flash times to meet EPA laws. Adding multiple coats just makes it worse.

If afraid the only option is to strip the engine, clean, bake and then repaint. Make sure you paint at above 70-degrees and then bake after 3 coats. Leave at elevated temp for about 48hours.

All this is why I don't paint my engines. I just clean them up really well, put a brushed finish on them and get'em running as good as they can. Most of these engine coatings don't last anyway, especially if the bike is a daily runner.
