Hey,

I was opening my engine to change out my broken kick start shaft.
previous owner cheaped out and did a home repair.

Then i noticed that my oil pump gear was completely off center.
this is not my video but its the same thing.

Any idea on how this is caused?

Ehh. You may want to replace the pump if that's happening. I think I have a good one in my parts bin if you need it.

I would take it apart and inspect everything to see what's going on. It looks like the spindle or gear has been damaged. It could have been installed incorrectly and damaged as a result. Post some pics of what you find.

Just took it apart, no big surprise, the shaft was bent.
the inside of the pump looks normal, i don't have my feeler gauge so can't wear now.

and i shure want to take it of your hands, If you don't mind shipping to Belgium ;D

Be sure to check the gear that engages that sprocket...I think it's the one on the clutch basket but I haven't opened the CB up in a while. Hopefully that thing didn't mess with any other teeth.

I can get a quote to ship it to you, If you want to PM me your address or postal code. It may be cheaper for you to find one on eBay that's already in Europe.

If you haven't already replaced your oil pickup with the one from the CJ, you may be able to find a pump/pickup combo for a decent price on eBay. That's why I have the extra pump lying around

i will be sure to check it out.

and my engine is a CJ type so i guess the oil pickup is the right one but i will check again to be sure.
