are you going to register it in ca? You should only have to pay for 1 years registration. This bike was out of the system. I paid the fees to register it and then put it in PNO (plan Non Op) which keeps it in the system but does not require you to pay fees on it.
Thanks for the info. I'm planning to move there in a few years. So, it was a question for future planning. GLWS. My next future project will likely be a cb175 twin. I think it was the best of the Honda (little) twins made.
I dont know, it has a lot of little odd ball issues when it come to building or finding parts. I moved up to the 175 from the 125 because in Ca to ride on the freeway a bike has to be over 150cc.
I'm comparing it to the 160 or the 200 twins as far as features and ease of parts. I do see your point about the crappy frame though. I just plugged into your current project. Cool bike! Good to know the CB motor slips into the SL frame. I love these little tidbits about compatibility.
the only issue i have run into was that the motor does not slip in so easy with the starter still on. Im not sure it is possible to do it that way. The SL motor does not have a starter. I pulled mine off to get it in but to put the starter back on you have to pull off the left side motor cover. So that is kind of a pain if you ever have to take the motor out but i guess once your done and its in why would you need to take it out.
