CB175 oil pump upgrade to CB200 pump or plunger?

Coast to Coast
The trudge continues on the dad'n'daughter baby tracker and while I've got the motor apart, I wondered whether or not its worth the effort to upgrade to the CB200 pump or at least the larger diameter plunger.
I remember years ago on the racing DOHC CB450's, a bigger plunger was derigeur and if I remember rightly, closing up the plunger to bore tolerances was also a good idea... or an I going overboard for a street bike motor which is almost stock.
Thoughts, anyone?
Thanks,
Pat

Pat haven't done it yet.. But this seems like a pretty standard mod for the racing 175's. Our 200 has one oil channel and you can see why honda went to a bigger oil pump if you compared the cb200 cam to the 175 cam.

We can't use a 175 pump in our 160 and sloper 175 motors, so we have the pump machined out to take a 200 piston. In fact I need to order a new batch of plungers for the next couple of projects.

I would do it in a heartbeat for any 160 or 175 motor.

If you can, do it. The smaller twins have notorious top end oiling issues . The pump and plunger are bolt on upgrades in the verts
But I'm biased because I did it to my cl

For what its worth, bought a CB200 pump today and will see how it fits. Should be easy-peasy from what I've been told.
Still shaking my head that the price of the pump and the shipping cost were almost the same though.
Probably overkill for a street bike but what the hell...
Pat

Much cheaper than a new head and cam and rockers......... Cheap insurance Pat.

Can anyone tell me what the plunger diameter of the CB200 pump is? TIA
