epic build so far guys the bike looks very impressive so far. are you going to spray the tank or leave it as is? i have just been given a cb200 myself and plan on starting very soon but am stumped where to start as so much needs doing but this post is very motivating though.

cheears! we are definately going to paint the tank./...we just havent thought of what colour(s) or scheme to do it yet....we're also thinking of maybe beefing the sides out to give it more of a meaty look....

we'll cross that bridge when we get to it soon :)

good luck with your build! it is daunting but just attack it little by little and you'll slowly see it come together!

hi there, well this is so far a great looking build!!!! cant wait to see it grow!!! keep it up!

next on our list to look at is brakes, linkages and switchgear stuff.

Looking Great Guys! Great job on the engine tear down and re-assembly. The stance looks just right.

Nice! Hey what tires are you running? they look great! Oh, word of advice; any screws nuts or bolts that you wire wheel, put some wax on em' that will slow the rust down.

Amazing looking bike, what length rear shocks did you use from dime city?

Cheers. we used the 335mm ones. gives the bike just the right stance we think!

Thanks:) i'll have a closer look next time I go over to work on the bike but i know it was a michelin M45. I'll have to double check the size..

so anyway yesterday we started on the linkages

came out alot better than we thought.

started with some rod from bunnings

the rear brake side was a bit trickier and we kinda failed on our first attempt but we'll tackle it next week.

Anyone used an alternative kickstarter for the CB200 from another bike? We were under the impression that the CB750 levers (that swivel at the base) would work but seems the spline is bigger.

The obstacle is to get more clearance for the kickstarter so it can clear the rearset.

I had the same issue with my 175. I think the 175 has a longer kickstart lever, that is even more in the way.
Cut a few slices 3/4 through the diameter to make it easier to bend. Then you can use a small propane torch to heat it up and bend it along the slices. Then you can have someone weld over the cuts.

Or if you have a nice hot torch, which I didn't, you can bend it.

I bent mine on my 175 to clear the rearset. The only problem then is it does tend to stick into your leg a bit, so I moved it around the spline a couple of notches and it just cleared my leg.

tonight we fitted the electronic ignition.

took the engine out and torqued up all the head bolts. snapped one in the process but an ezy out saved the day

made up a bracket for the rear light and got it mounted. pics are a bit dark but i'll get more in the daylight next time. we're well pleased with how the rear end looks now :)

now there are some niggling issues we have to address like kickstart lever/ rearset clearance and rear brake setup.
hopefully next update we'll have indicators on, headlight and tacho mounted and it will look as it will whens its complete.

Not too far off, basically finish off road gear, sort out rear brake linkage and kickstarter/kickstand then onto engine with exhaust and carbs. A new wiring loom and a few other small bits.

Speaking of kick stands, we need to fab something up to mount one (which we don't have yet). Are there any universal kick stands that will mount to a tubular frame?
