Hello,
I recently bought an engine with a good cam chain guide to save my 'first' engine.
But now I want to save both engines.... So I thought about repairing the broken guide.
I asked my colleague Nico if he could weld the two pieces but he was sure the heat would destroy the guide.
He advised to screw a piece of metal to the back of the guide. Today I did that and also put some metal glue in between (Bison Combi Metal).
Take a look at the pictures...
A shot at the comments I expect: "t cannot bend anymore", "it cannot stand the vibration", "it's to thick to fit in the engine", "The glue will pollute the oil" et. etc.
True, I don't know if it will hold but I cannot think of another solution right now.
