CB350 Built by a teen (Weld Now, Grind Later)

Ya wanna know why this has gotten so pearshaped? You started off strong and turned into just another kid telling stories. You had the basis for real tangible respect and you blew it with all the bullshit and stories of 'conquest' and bragging about women you haven't had who wouldn't' give you the time of day. Give it a rest David, seriously. Just stick with the truth, don't bullshit a 'room full' of adults who know crap when it's flung about.

I give this advice from the heart David, nobody want's to see you succeed more than I do.......and I washed my hands of this trainwreck once already, though I have peeked in a few times. It's tough NOT to....

Last bit of advice, clean up this travesty of a thread and get on with it. You get heat now because this has sunk to equal parts: 'Gilmore Girls' / 'OCC' / Celebrity Rehab' with a smattering of relatable bike stuff. Not a good show.....

+1. Nothing more needs to be said.

Brad, your crack me up!

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Those parts you forget about)

I don't have a problem with it, (BTW, I could have made alloy spacers for 'cost')
I would go with Swaggers offer though, free is good ;D
I've been working on my XS's for bout 7 yrs and the '360's' for about 3~4 yrs (although they have been built, ridden and stripped down a couple of times for more 'improvements ;D )
I was always 'working' on something when I was your age, mostly bikes , women/girls. (they were all girls but when your a kid some seem more 'sophisticated' ;) )
I've always found bikes to be more reliable and cheaper, plus, they stick around longer (plus, when things go wrong, you know exactly what you did) ;D ;D ;D 8) ::)
It really depends on what you really want, the bike was fun when you started but now other things are taking over, it happens.
You could probably finish it in 3~4 days if you really wanted to, then strip it again in a few months for the things you should have done
Most people sell and start a new one, I don't until I'm completely 'happy' (or bored)

If I had a spacer sitting around that was too long I could cut it down and make it work. but I dont; I only have shorter ones.

fuck it, I figure if I can find some round stock around the right size I could then find and buy a bit that large and cut the stock then drill it out...

just is a lot of digging around for something that would take all of about 30 minutes to make up in a lathe.

and seriously brad? when I do something I do it right. I don't want to have my wheel moving about because I chose not to ask for help and end up killing myself.

Theres a right way (make a damn spacer on a lathe) and a wrong way that can work if you put in a lot more time. It's not like I'm asking if I could use a cb360 wheel with those forks and how I could do it all... I did all the leg work and research, I'm just asking for someone who has machinery I don't have available to me to make me a part. Shit, I'd rather give the money to a fellow member on the site then to the local machinist (though he is a nice guy, hes very busy and can't be bothered for such mundane tasks).

many small spacer make one large spacer. think, try and learn.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Those parts you forget about)

Andaslong as it's not the "in between the bearings" spacers dont see a way you could get yourself killed other then crying yourself to death cause you've got 128 pages and no ride XD

j/k keep it up!and +10 on the bunny (page 123)

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Just call me Buffy... polished crankcase!! PICS UP!)

Rocan said:
haha, i was waiting for you guys to notice...

they all came out a bit crooked... but they all work justttt fine. its damn hard to drill those holes straight as the bottom of the crankcase doesnt sit paralell to the holes, and using a drill press its hard to get them straight.

plus no one will ever look at it ;)

Controversy all over hehe

Sorry for my 3 posts i a row. couldn't stop myself!

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Those parts you forget about)

this is fucking bullshit guys. really? My last post I updated my bike with was bike related. Swagger went and made it about unrelated shit.

And bert... if you don't have a wheel properly spaced within the forks, it has room to shift around left and right. That is NOT safe, no matter how you look at it. and yes, many small spacers do make up one big spacer but I didn't have enough small spacers to do that.

Now really, can ya'll shut the fuck up about whats in the back of this thread and just let me get on with it? The girls came up in the first place because I was JOKINGLY explaining my absence from the project. I don't give a damn about the women, I give a damn about my fucking bike.

So please. I'm sick and fucking tired of getting bashed left and right when I'm TRYING to make this bike related. Every time I start talking about bikes, one of you goes off about how worthless this fucking thread is. So either shut your fucking mouth if you have a problem and leave the thread alone (which will help with the whole random nonsense problem) or post something useful. And hell, the length and lack of bike material is partially what made this thread so interesting in the first place. Sorry you all changed your mind about it.

At the end of the day, its my damn bike. I don't need to post to this thread, or any thread. I don't need to share my information and mishaps with anyone, but I choose to do so because many of you find it entertaining.

So to those who helped me, thank you. and to those who just bash me, fuck you. I'll continue working and finishing the bike, but as for this thread, you can all fuck yourselves till you see it finished.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Those parts you forget about)

Serious? How dumb are you? Before you start with the fuck-you attitude towards other members i strongly suggest you check what they are doing on their bikes. If you really think i don't understand the importance of the right length of spacers i have nothing more to say to you.

now drop the attitude, because you've got nothing to back it up/

Because i feel sorry for the bike and you, spacers can be made out of:

-old inner races of bearings with same id
-big nuts drilled out
-washers
-money (serious. i once punced the center out a 2 euro coin to ride. now that i think about it, still works like a charm!)
-tubing

one last thing, a dutch proverb:

"denkt alvoor ge doende gaat en doende denkt dan nog"
it means:
"think before you do - and think while you do aswell"

when you don't have the equipment or resources to do mods, don't fuckin' do em!

iRe: CB350 Built by a teen (Those parts you forget about)

Man did you ever get clear to lunch time with out someone taking you milk money. You wouldnt of if i went to your school. rocon your a special kind of aragant, the kind that is usually reserved for a 2nd generation counrty club rich kids. Think about your people skills ya cunt.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Those parts you forget about)

Ever notice that so many folks in the world turn to things to work out their demons? Motorcycles for some, cocaine for others. Fact is, this thread seems to have turned into some perverted therapy where people can get their frustrations out in anonymity regardless if they're related to the post our not. It's kind of like a "Occupy DTT" forum.

You all seem to have a need to express generalized frustration at each other and, while we all are not learning about building a motorcycle, we seem to be learning a lot about some folks pent-up seasonal frustrations.

Happy Holiday to all.

Rocan, these folks are your friends...they don't know you well enough to be your enemies. You are dependent on this community for the help you seem to value so you might not want to pee in your own water bowl...

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Those parts you forget about)

im not pissin in my own water bowl nor am I acting in an arrogant manner. I talked about bikes. you guys went and changed that. I asked for help to solve a problem in a solution I deemed completely reasonable (and I'm sure many agree that it was a reasonable way to fix the issue) and what followed is a bunch of people bashing me about how I can't solve a problem without asking for help, which is not the case.

Brad, your acting immature. You quite literally have resorted to elementary school bullying to try to argue a point that simply isn't the case. Not only that, but your post is ironic. You call me a cunt and tell me how you would have beat me up for my milk money if I attended your elementary school, and then tell me that I lack "people skills."

I would have been perfectly open to the suggestion of making the spacer myself, but rather then simply suggesting it, y'all went ahead and started trouble which escalated to a point of vulgar language on both my part and your own.

and dbdotdot... yes, I do value the help I get here, but it's not useful if its provided with a book full of swearing to go along with it. And for christs sake, I have my problems, as I'm sure we all do. But you don't see me going around to other peoples threads and bashing them left and right. If I do, its always jokingly. I'm simply not going to stand around and take this unjust banter from a bunch of ADULTS, who seem to be acting otherwise. Sure, I go ahead and discuss my personal life in the open chat section, and more so then the average person, but that is not grounds to judge nor treat me differently.

once again, I agree with dbdotdot's post entirely. I don't know what it is, but lately I feel like the vibe around here has been seriously negative from a lot of guys I considered my friends. I got nothing more to say. I'm not arguing. My last post was out of complete frustration. If I had no idea what I was trying to do, then my words of vulgarity would have been uncalled for. but that wasn't the case. I asked for help, tried multiple times to explain calmly why I wasn't keen to make the spacers myself, and eventually got annoyed to the point of frustration, and as a result, anger.

Consider it. a 1 inch wide half inch radius piece of aluminum is what sparked this entire argument. *rolls eyes*

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Those parts you forget about)

Let it go - might be a good approach to getting past this and back to bikes. Just sayin'

It's your thread Mr Tolstoy. You are the only one to choose what you say. There's not a lot you can do about anyone else's reaction, so focus on what you want to say and say it.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Those parts you forget about)

You've all got to be kidding right?

I pop back in here to this thread after I hadn't looked at it for quite some time and this is the shit that everyone's up to?

Seriously, you're all acting like a pack of 9 year olds with your "You started it", "no you did" attitudes. On top of that, bullying someone just to get a rise really doesn't make some of you look that intelligent, nor make you look like you're interested in maintaining some for of camaraderie or brotherhood here (apologies to the sisters, I'm sure you get my drift). Furthermore, attacking the very people that have tried to nurture and offer support throughout the years is not a smart move. Thinking needs to be undertaken before fingers go on keys.

I can't see how anyone who's written anything here for the last few pages has really helped to contribute in any way whatsoever to continuing what could be regarded as a supportive community of people interested in all things bikes. All I've read is a load of bitching, whinging and pissing in each others faces.

You should all be bloody ashamed of yourselves. Are you men (women) or children? Take a week off and grow up the lot of you.
