Re: CB350 Cafe... 6 years in the making!

Good day BCBarker & other dotheton members,

My compliments for the best looking rearsets on a CB 350 so far.

Planning to do something similar myself and I would appreciate if you could post some closeups with the final rear brake cable setup. Did you someway connect the cable to the original linkage or to the brake lever itself.

If someone else have pics of similar rearsets, please share them.

Many thanks in advance for all your help.

Best regards from Finland,
longwaybackhome

Also been working on some rear sets. I'm not really a huge fan of the aluminum/home made ones, So i'm trying to make them outta the parts that came on the bike.

Not that hard with the shifter side.

The brake side is forcing me to switch to cable operated. The stock arm just isn't good for reusing in any other way than honda designed, so I got a Duc brake arm cuz it was the most promising at the junk yard. This is where I am right now. Still need to make an armature for the cable on the pedal side. Thinking the wheel side will have it's arm attached to the brake stay. Once I fab it up I'll post the solution!

.......

BUT I did get the rear sets welded up and painted. They are pretty much finished except a final coat on the shift linkage and hooking everything up. I went with a cable hook up for the brake. If I find the right brake lever that can be easily modified I'm going to convert it back to something along the likes of CCrider's mechanical control. I just like the thought of keeping the "original" technology.

Here they are. I'll get better pics when the weather is better, but you can see from the "parts" pics how they came together.

Pegs fold up for I can still use the kicker! Kicker arm clears the brake arm with lots of room to spare too!

Black on black is kinda hard to see... sorry. Look at the Parts pics for close up details.

Thanks for the complements!

I'll grap pics and post them next time I'm out in the shop.

The rear brake is a little weak, so I'm still working on a solution for that.

I've been focused on a CB750F so I just bounce back to this while I wait on parts/paint to dry. :)
