CB350 cam and rockers

The lobes on the left cylinder are wiped out on my bike. Is it a bad idea to buy a used set of rockers and cam to get me through the summer or should I just bite the bullet and shell out the $600 to get new stuff from Megacycle Cams? I don't feel like half assing it but I can't afford the new parts right now so it will take me out of action for quite a while.

How bad is the cam? You can get it welded and reground at a machine shop. Or you can get a stock cam on ebay. You don't need a new set of rockers.

I have yet to fully disassemble the head and inspect/measure everything. It looks like the cam lobes are pitted and scored in the left side and I'm pretty sure that would wipe out the rockers on those lobes. I will try to find out tonight exactly what's up.
