so i went to install my mini gauges and relocate my ignition switch to the little dash panel i made. i extended the 4 wires from the ignition switch about 5 inches. (wires are: brown w/ white stripe, brown, black, red) all my lights, horn, neutral light, gauge lights and electric starter work but i have no spark now. i took the plugs out (both left and right, one at a time) and held them to the fins and got no spark out of either side. i have no spark what so ever. does the actual entire ignition switch assembly it self have to be grounded or no? i checked every connection and even re-did the 5 wires i extended again just to make sure it wasnt a bad connection and nothing changed. this is killing me. anyone might have an idea of whats goin on? here a few photos of the wires extended as well as the new resting place for the ignition switch.
well found it was a connection in the kill switch. fixed that and now it runs again. but now my neutral light doesnt work hahaha its always something i guess. i was switching through on to accessory mode to check and see if that still worked (which it did) and then switched it back to "on" (when the neutral light comes on) and now nothin. this fuckin thing is possessed, or im just a moron that should probably get some sleep. im thinking its the latter of the two. ;D
yeah just thought it to be kind of weird, as it was working fine all day long and then i skip past the "on" position on the ignition switch to "accessory" and now nothin. its just one of those "dash indicator led's" wired to the original bulb/socekt that was in the stock tach...
I think it has a lot to do with the little rotor that's under the sprocket cover getting dirty really quick. It's right by your chain so it gets covered in gunk and I think just has a hard time making a connection.
