CB350 ignition system

Looking to upgrade my ignition to an electronic system.

What are the chances I'll find a bore-tech.

What are my alternatives that are worth spending the money on..

Bore Tech is actually a reseller for Probe Engineering. I'd go directly to Probe. Mark is a good guy.

There's also the Pamco unit, but I'm hearing mixed reviews of their work recently. The Yamaha stuff they do is pretty solid, but I think they're having quality problems with their newer Honda offerings.

There are a couple of other offerings, too. I think Dynatek and Charlie's Place both have one, but they retain the stock advancer.

I heard a Guy named Sonreir was working on a DIY electronic ignition, but rumors are just that...... 8) 8)

I keep wanting to tell you that you misspelled "Sparck" LOL....Still, better than say "Smoked" ...wouldn't want to buy "Smoked" electrical components.... ;D

Ive been in touch w/ Mark at Probe Engineering regarding his CB350 ignition. He said he plans on having like three units ready to sell sometime next week. So if you're considering getting in touch with Mark - you should do as soon as possible.

In my experience, the mechanical is never quite as accurate or reliable as the electronic. The stock advancer has parts that wear out and require maintenance, but an electronic pickup with solid components has none of those things. On the down side, if your electronic ignition has a component failure, it's often fatal for the entire system.

With a decent aftermarket electronic ignition, you're usually able to get some level of programmability, too. It's a lot easier to push a few buttons than it is to tweak an advancer.
