CB350 no spark on one side

Okay so i set my valves for my cb350 and when i went to start it there was nothing. So i took out the spark plugs to see if they had spark and only one side had spark. Then i switch the wires around and then the other side had spark. What does this mean? Bad Coil or Condenser?

Battery, usually. Honda twins are notorious for dropping a cylinder when the battery is dead or dying.

Nope thats not it just charged to make sure that wasnt the case. I just find it weird that when i check the spark one side sparks and the other doesnt, but when i switch the wires from the coils the other side fires and the one before doesnt.

Do you really think that is what it is? It was running perfectly before i set the valves. Would the points just go out of sync like that?

Did you load test it or just put it on the charger?

No but it sat on the charger for about 8 hours at 2amp dont see why it wouldnt fully charge.

it would be prudent to inspect the points,
if needed drag a points file across them, clean and set gap
while you have points cover and stator cover off check cam chain slack, adjust if needed
leave the points cover off untill you get it running and then timed with a light at full advance
process of elimination and the points is a super easy, important one to eliminate

You can charge a bad battery all day and it wont make a difference. Is it a sealed battery? How old is it? sit around for a while without juice?

I had one bike with a bad regulator that cooked all the acid out of a battery. Charged and charged it with not much luck. Still read 12 volts but dropped to almost nothing when I hit the starter button and pulled all of the amps away from it. New battery is easy... trust in Sonreir.

Hook some jumper cables from your car to the bike battery. If it still won't fire you damn sure know it's not the battery. I had this problem once and I ran up the rpms... Loud backfire and all was good. Never figured it out.

If you can get a multimeter, check your battery. As the other poster said, if it's dead or fluids low, no amount of charging will help. What your experienced, plus a low battery has caught me out countless times.

Well problem was solved. Took it to Phil the Honda doctor. We figured the reason it wasn't starting was actually because the right point lost its elasticity.Ya would have never figured that one out without him. So problem solved bike runs great now

very cool info and good news
i seen a feller what had a scale lashup rigged to measure tension the points had on the spring
oh and OEM honda points are worth the extra money
