second shocks mentioned are on the soft side. id go with the first over the second.

Works Shocks are the best you can get.
personally id go with a set of progressive shocks (from their website). you never know the quality of the other shocks you find... many of the ebay ones have tabs broken on them within weeks.

on the other hand- most anything is an upgrade over stock.

omar's has those vintage redwings for 99 I believe.

I personally am leaning towards just shelling out an extra couple hundred and getting a set of hagons. From what I understand the difference between $100 shocks and $300 shocks is night and day.
