CB350 Rearsets are Here!!!! Finally!!

put em on today!

i have these rearsets too and my brake side is set up identically. isn't there way too much travel at your foot to get any action on the rearbrake? for me, i had to trim down the linkage rod and push the lever arm forward at the drum, against the resistance (just before the brake is actually applied to the wheel) in order to get any brake action. i have it so the foot lever is at a comfortable angle and the action is short for the brake to be applied, but since there's so much spring-loaded travel at the drum's lever arm, if you're not holding it down, the foot lever sticks straight up. the only way i can think to prevent this is to add a stopper on the rearset mount.

i'm not sure if that made any sense whatsoever to anyone else, but if it did, has anyone else had this issue?

I just had someone else with the same issue. Just curious, but how are your brake shoes. It's the first instances I've seen. Cutting you shift linkage didn't help. I think that's why its pulling the lever. I wonder if my lever is too short on the linkage end. Like there's not enough travel in the lever actuation. I'll work on. It.

I just thought of something. What if the internals of the brake arm in the drum were only designed to activate the brake when pulled, not pushed ( pulled from top ). I would think that the internals are like most, and just a flat that gets rotated, and pushes out the shoes. But maybe there is something going on in there.

Just a thought

The other side of the splined piece coming out of a rear brake drum, has a flat machined on it. Its vertical in the drum when at rest. When the outside ( brake arm ) is rotated, the flat rotates, and presses outward on the brake shoes. Like so.

Maybe the flat inside isnt centered, and works best in one direction and not the other.
Clear as mud right? LOL

Its possible that the brake cam is designed to be rotated one way. Its offset. we may need to open the drum and rotate the cam as well.

with the linkage disconnected and the arm at rest, the rotation distance both clockwise and counterclockwise until brake action seems to be the same for me.

I think with the offset flats on the shaft, the difference is on the inside. travel will be the same on the outside, but it may move the pads more, in one direction than the other on the inside. The more i think about it, the less i believe myself. LOL. I will do what in can to get my hands on a 350 and look into this further. I want to sell something that works well, not just OK.

cool. if nothing else i did end up making an aluminum 90 degree stopper with a threaded hole for an adjustable bolt/locknut that i think will work just fine.

in other news, if no one else has said it yet, i will... you have THE coolest signature on the site.

Check it out. Ill be making prototypes in a week.

Will these fit on a 73' CL350? I believe the mounts are the same as far as where the passenger pegs are. I just need some reassurance.
Also, your pricing for the full set is still at $160 a set? (that is until Dec. 1, right?)

Yes they will. The work better on the Cl 's actually. The kicker is offset for better clearance. You may still need to heat and bend it a little. Some guys have had about a half inch of clearance issues.

And its $155 shipped until Dec 1st.

Are there any clearance issues with the stock exhaust on a cb350k4? It's getting replaced eventually, but wanted to be sure I could get away with them for a while.

Hi D
I'd like to order a CB350 kit with folding pegs and rod ends. Can you send me a PP invoice? Shipping to Sydney Australia

Thx
