Here are some shots of Triple 6. I just lost an hours work on here so Im uploading pics and modify as I go. So check out the whole blog from the start if you come back for a visit since I'll be adding pics and trying to keep some sort of continuity going.
Triple 6 has been going for about a year now. But a family budget leaves little to play with so it been slow. Even the extra cash from working on a Rhino on the side didnt see Triple 6. Triple 6 was going to be a parts bike for another cb350 bobber project that I have but Triple six was too complete to turn into a parts bike. So one project became two. Triple six was just missinga few details or so says the mechanic who I bought it from. Triple six had been broken down for paint and never completely put back together. Its last incarnation was a yellow frame wih a yellow and black tank. Wish I had take pictures. But heres a shot of the tank on my bobber project you can imagine the rest. I like the tank for the bobber so its staying on that ride.
As you can see T6 sports a cb750 tank right now and hopefully it still agrees with me once the engine is back in. The width is whats bugging me, we'll have to wait so no work on that tank yet. the frame was sandblasted and powder coated all fo the sum of 60 bucks its all who you know (IN MEXICO). I took a deep breath and took he grinder to the battery box tabs.
I bought the 49 dollar clip ons on ebay and I'm satisfied with the purchase. Tomaselli is not the budget for now. And I want to stay away from billet. I'm going for a BCR look with a little more vintage to it.
This is where my seat will come to. I didn't know where my tree stump would come from and we had a wind storm. A tree fell and I get a free stump. The rest is Harbor Frieght. I've had to fix the hammer more than twice, but can beat the price.
This is my first try at the rear cowl, th shape is fine, but too small we'll have to keep trying.
I've been working on the seat this last week since it was the only thing I could work into my budget. A parts bike is on it's way I hope if I can get a grasp on 200 bucks and not let go. The seat is all steal which I know is not as light as fiberglass or aluminuim, but its the way I felt like going with this.
As you can see it's a work in progress, but I really like the way it is coming.
With some practice maybe a seat or two will help me fund my project (wishfull thinking)
