Been Around the Block
Hi all,
Currently sitting in a hotel room, wishing I was back home working on my bike. Anyway, I'm trying to plan my attack for my exhaust. I currently have two 2-1 megaphone pipes that bolt onto the rear footpegs and extend to the rear axel. Cool. Except I want to cut off the rear footpeg mounts. You see the dilema.
I've ran the bike with straight headers for about 30 minutes and it sounds awesome but it's entirely too loud. I don't have 400 for the mac 4-1 and apparently tuning is a nightmare (not sure first hand, just what I was told). So I know I want something shorter, a bit louder, and preferably of the combined variety (ie 4-1 or two 2-1's).
I've thought about hacking off my mufflers just after they join and looking for a stubby muffler or some baffles to fit. Anyone done this? I want to retain some back pressure as I lost some low end torque when I ran just headers. I also be jetting up to 85's or 90's as I am going to run pods/unis so rejetting is no issue.
