I'm building a cb360 and I'll be running kick-only. I'm wondering what the smallest battery is that I can run.
I'd love to get away with using this: http://ebatteriestogo.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=ES1.9-12&Category_Code=
Or if it isn't enough amp-hours wiring two of them in parallel. Has anyone does this?
I've heard that overcharging is an issues when you use small batteries... surely there must be a circuit that can prevent that.
BTW, that battery that came with the bike (EverStart walmart) was 12AH lead acid (not sealed)... but that had to turn the starter motor.
Not being a dick, but use the search function. I know theres a dozen or so battery threads that outline what you'll need in better detail than I could.

So I think the only problem with using a smaller battery on a kick-only bike is the possibility of overcharging -> swelling -> exploding battery.
Now I ask, what couldn't I just use resistors, voltage regulators, whatever to adjust the output of my charging system to match the desired input charge for the battery.
That specific battery likes 14.4 - 15 volts and up to 0.69 amps.
Maybe I could even put the extra energy to good use... like cracking some water molecules.
I'm runnin a 5ah gel sealed on my kick only 360 and it's doin great. I had a 2.3 4-cell batt and fried it in 6 months with minimal riding. Had a weak idle and then just quit holding a charge. I'd recommend at least a 5ah but I've heard others say don't go below 7 or 8 ah
