So my carbs came with removable air screws under the diaphragm... but i needed to replace one carb body due to a cracked float pin finger, so off to egay I went. The one that came doesn't have removableair screw however. WTF? There seems to be a few different carb body ID numbers for this bike... SO the question is - can I use one with the other? Do the air screws ever get changed out like jets or did they come in different size options?
I don't know the exact answer for your question but:
I wouldn't run 2 different carbs simply because tuning "might" be a nightmare, as well as both cylinders aren't getting the same mixtures etc------not that it won't run fine but 2 of the same is the best route.
As for removable air screws, I've only ever pulled them out for cleaning a carburetor, I can only assume that these could be changed to accomodate modified engines and their need for either more/less restricted air through those ports.
That being said, see if they are the same air jet size and you may be ok. See how helpful I am : I'll see if my googlefu can find any answers.
You can use mismatched carbs, I've had set sent for 'mods for pods' after they were 're-built' by a 'well known company'
that many people here have bought parts and jets from (me included)
Stock parts are fine as long as your using stock air filters/air box
I've seen the exact same part number on press in and screw in air jet carbs
